The Brown stable is sending two stable stars down the highway to Caulfield this saturday in search of an elusive black type win for Lady Jones and an overdue city win for the ever consistent Heavenly Eagle.
Heavenly Eagle will be stepping up in grade as he takes on the Benchmark 80 grand handicap. This is a race he qualified for after his dominate win at seymour last start. Heavenly Eagle goes into the race in fine form having either won or run second in his last three starts. The step up to the 1700 and the good graces from the barrier draw only boost his chances in a very even affair. The stable is very bullish about his chances after a fine display on the training track this week. He is definitely one worth a watch and some each way money.
The daughter of Toronado, Lady Jones is headed to the Group 3 Catanach's 150 years anniversary Vase. She heads into the race third up after two fantastic displays in tougher races at both Flemington and Moonee Valley. Her last start in the Stocks stakes at Moonee Valley saw her be a victim of a bad barrier draw. She was stuck three wide the trip and was just ran down late by a very promising horse in Alsephina who is now headed to the group one Toorak and is a live chance. Lady Jones heads into the group three this weekend having been gifted a great gate in barrier 4 and has only improved at home on the track. She goes into this group three a really firm chance to finally snatch that elusive black type victory after multiple game placings.
Both horses will be partnered by inform hoop Ethan Brown as he looks to continue to cement his place in the upper echelon of jockeys in Victoria as the spring racing really heats up.
Saturday looks set to be a great day for the stable as they head to Caulfield full of confidence ready to take some silverware back to Ursula Downs.
Make sure you tune in as the horses will be racing at the following times:
Heavenly Eagle - Race 1 - 12:15pm est
Lady Jones - Race 4 - 2:00pm est
