Winning debut for Inglis Yearling Purchase

Named Kronos (meaning Helmet in Greek) he shares his the name of his Group 1 winner father Helmet.

Munchie an unraced mare is proving to be a very valuable broodmare with this fella now continuing her faultless record as a broodmare with all foals now going on to win races.

So not only does Kronos share his racing namesake with his father, an unusual coincidence was that Helmet's mother was also unraced.

Kronos a $100,000 yearling purchase took out the opening event run at Morphettville today being the $100,000 2yo event ridden by Jamie Kah winning narrowly over the leader of the race Tabbing who fought back tenaciously in the home straight.

Kronos had raced in a barrier trial only 5 days earlier at Cranbourne where he won the trail convincingly and pulled up well, so the mission was on to travel to Adelaide to let him have a race day start. I always knew he was special in training he is a tough little who enjoys his track work and a very quick learner with natural ability.

Owned in partnership by some loyal owners of more than 20 years and brand new owners who have never ever raced a horse previously. One of these new owners who we not name in this story commented after the race "I cannot believe that just happened this is so surreal".

Then as we are all in the winners enclosure for the after race photos I too as a trainer had a surreal moment when this same owner was standing in the winners enclosure in a pair of thongs.

Word has it that this owner has a suit and shoes for his next start.
