Successful Darwin Winter for Brown Stable
Another successful Darwin campaigning for the Brown Stable with 2 horses sent North both resulting in wins for connections.
Kronos led the way winning a Class 2 1200 metre event demolishing a field with strong interstate form by 7 lengths running fast time of 1:08.46.
This was an impressive run for his first start on the first leading to his running into the unknown of the mile distance of the Darwin Guineas running a brave 2nd placing in the feature ridden by Stephen Brown Junior.
Elisha who had taken the venture North with the two horses advised she did not want to send this horse to Darwin initially, however Stephen Senior sent him North in a missions to toughen him up due to some lack lustre performances in Melbourne following his gelding operation.
Kronos end his Darwin mission with a now very respectable 50% strike rate from his 10 starts: 2 wins 1 second and 2 third placing's.
The other stable runner to venture North was Big Blows who won a lead up race prior to the Guineas, who missed a run in the Guineas due to elevated temperature after the Darwin Fireworks night where several horses following this annual event in Darwin had similar conditions.
Big Blows went on to run in the Derby however running mid field, possibly a big ask considering he missed a lead up run for this race.
